Biography

Prof. Muhammad Ahmad is a scholar of Arabic language and literature whose work examines the intersection of classical Arabic scholarship and contemporary Islamic education across West Africa. His research and teaching focus on the historical development of Arabic instruction and its role in shaping educational institutions throughout the region.

Over more than two decades in academia, he has held teaching and research positions across multiple institutions, publishing widely on Arabic pedagogy, classical literature, and the intellectual history of Islamic scholarship in Nigeria.

He has supervised numerous graduate theses in Arabic linguistics and literature, and remains active in efforts to preserve and digitize historical Arabic manuscripts held across Northern Nigeria.
